MAY 2006
Things have been busy at Lamour Design the past couple months. I have been working part time with this terrific woman named Pat Nieshoff, who owns her own studio in Lexington. IN the meantime I have been looing for a full time contract or full time job that is a good fit for me. I have been interviewing for some excellent places, but still haven't found a job yet. In the meantime I have been keeping busy with side projects, bidding estimates and meeting some really excellent designers.

MARCH 2006
I am currently freelancing for a few current and a couple older clients. I just had a one month contract at a place called Jones and Bartlett publishers doing a lot of direct mail pieces. I am currently looking around for a full time job.

JANUARY 2006
My contract has ended at New Tilt. They said goodbye to me with a delicious ice cream cake and the hopes I will come back when they get some new clients. In the meantime I am taking some time off. I decided to take the next few weeks to learn as much as I can on Lynda.com, so I can go into the world of freelancing as a skilled actionscripter. Just in the past few days I have learned a tremendous amount on the site. I am also doing a huge powerpoint presentation for the Iron Mountain technology department, so I should be extremely busy even though I do not have a full time job.

OCTOBER
I love the fall and this fall has been fabulous so far. I have been contracted to work 4 days a week at New Tilt until the end of the year and got two new clients that I am very excited about. The first is a man named Brian Mullins who is establishing a business called Visually Speaking, where he consults businesses on how to use pictures to enhance their presentations. His biggest client is Iron Mountain, which was my biggest client at MPG Yellow Pages. The second new client is a woman named Julia Bruck who is establishing a online business called The Image Art Store. She wants to take peoples pictures and art and make them unique using photoshop filters and other art techniques.

After a much needed hiatus, I am starting work on two new clients.

SEPTEMBER
September was a great month for new beginnings. I started my work as a contractor at New Tilt in Cambridge and absolutely love it. The people are fantastic and the work is extremely interesting. I have been doing the company brochure, press kits and the company web site. I have also been able to do some hands-on work on some of the web sites and marketing materials for some of their clients. Rotem and Scout have been fantastic mentors and have already taught me so much about web design and short cuts in some of the programs. Towards the end of the month they have decided to put me on part time at the firm, so I have been using that time to work on my business and myself. I hope to continue to work for them full time during the month of October, but if the work isn't there I am going to work through an employment agency and hopefully get to work with some other fantastic firms.
